Justin Harding delivered another brilliant display during the third round at the British Masters and will head into Saturday’s final round one shot off the pace.

The South African was in red-hot form once again and shot a five-under-par 66 on Friday to finish the day on 15 under par with Italian Renato Paratore still the leader on 16 under.

Harding started the day on the back foot with a bogey on the second hole but he turned his momentum around with three birdies on the front nine before an eagle on the par-5 10th hole, while he added another birdie on the 13th.

Given the struggles he endured so far on the European Tour this year, Thursday and Friday’s performances showcased his true talent with a massive final round awaiting for him to claim his second career win on the tour.

Countryman Haydn Porteous had another somewhat up and down day on the course to finish his third round with a one-under-par 70 – he will start the final day in T48 on three under.

Compleat Golfer’s playing editor Brandon Stone, though, suffered a forgettable day with a disappointing eight-over-par 79.
