Charl Schwartzel added a second-round 68 to his score on Friday and will start the second half of the 3M Open in T8 on eight under par.

Following a brilliant opening-round 66, Schwartzel continued his impressive form at the TPC Twin Cities by going three under on Friday, leaving him four shots behind the leaders.

The South African started with two bogeys and two birdies on the front nine, but rolled in four more birdies on the back nine, while only dropping one shot.

Schwartzel’s putter seems to be working for him in Minnesota and he could be set for a grandstand finish over the next two days if that continues.

Fellow countryman Dylan Frittelli is only a further stroke behind in T12 and will start his third round on seven under par after a brilliant 67 on Friday.

They will be chasing Michael Thompson and Richy Werenski, who are the co-leaders at the event on 12 under par.

Branden Grace and Erik van Rooyen have unfortunately missed the cut for the weekend.
