Sunshine Tour, Hotelplanner locks in four SA dates in 2027

The Sunshine Tour has announced a strong start to 2027, with the new year set to tee off with four tournaments co-sanctioned with the HotelPlanner Tour as the Road to Mallorca begins on South African fairways.

This is the largest number of tournaments hosted by a single country on the HotelPlanner Tour’s international schedule, and creates yet another opportunity for Sunshine Tour professionals to play their way onto the DP World Tour.

Last year JC Ritchie became the first South African winner of the Road to Mallorca, securing a DP World Tour card for this season.

The schedule will begin as early as the week of 21-24 January with the SDC Open at the Highland Gate Golf & Trout Estate. The Tour will then move to Durban for the Jonsson Workwear Durban Open at The Woods at Mount Edgecombe from 28-31 January. This will be followed by the CIRCA Cape Town Open at Royal Cape Golf Club from 4-7 February. These three tournaments will all feature prize funds of $375 000.

The NTT DATA Pro-Am in partnership with Standard Bank will be the fourth and final tournament on the schedule and will take place at Fancourt from 11-14 February for a prize fund of R7 million.
