Snedeker takes blame as US face uphill battle to avoid disaster

The USA need to pull off their own Miracle at Medinah to avoid Brandt Snedeker going down as the worst team captain in history.

Snedeker, by his own admission, has played a key role in the Internationals heading into Sunday needing five points for victory.

“I don’t think I’ve held up my end of the bargain,” Snedeker said.

“I tried to work my tail off to put these guys in the best situation possible, and I don’t think I’ve done a very good job this week to be where we are right now,” Snedeker said.

“They look to me to put them in the best position where they’re comfortable. I hold myself to a high standard. I don’t think I’ve done the best job for them in that room.”

Benching Socttie Scheffler for the Saturday foursomes will be discussed for months if they go on to lose.

“There’s a thousand different ways I can think of right now,” he said.

“I’ve been honestly second-guessing myself a lot to be in this situation.”
