    Johnson remains on 1 Major

Dustin Johnson continues to sit at the top of the Official World Golf Rankings, with the American topping the pile for the 23rd week.

Johnson maintains a strong lead over Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama and Rory McIlroy, thanks to his US Open win last season and then his early season run at Pebble Beach (third), Genesis Open (win), WGC-Mexico (win), WGC-Match Play (win) and Wells Fargo (T2) in consecutive starts from 9 February.

Spieth moved to second last week after his win at Royal Birkdale, but still trails Johnson by 2.34 ranking points. The gap between Spieth and Matsuyama is 1.42.

The big loser among the world’s elite is Australian Jason Day, who entered the season ranked first, but dropped to seventh this week. He has accumulated 68 points in 2017, with Johnson the most on 316 in the same period.

Charl Schwartzel remains top from a South African perspective in 21st place, with Louis Oosthuizen dropping one place to 23 and Tyrell Hatton moving into 22nd place.

The biggest movers from South Africa are way down the rankings, with Jacques Kruyswijk moving up to 282 from 296, Zander Lombard moving from 325 to 286 and Tyron Van Aswegen 11 places behind Lombard after his display at the RBC Canadian lifted him 19 spots.
