Branden Grace enters the final round of the Dell Technologies Championship with his FedExCup fate in his own hands.

South Africa’s third-ranked player will be hoping to advance to the BMW Championship with countrymen Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel.

Grace rebounded from a disastrous opening 74 on Friday with rounds of 64 and 69 on the weekend, to move from 99th at the start of the week to 63rd ahead of Monday’s Labour Day finish at TPC Boston.

The 29-year-old did just enough to make it into the field this week after missing the cut in the first playoff event, and looked to have one foot on the plane after his three-over-par start. Since then, Grace has made nine birdies and one eagle, with only two bogeys halting his march past Oosthuizen and Schwartzel on the leaderboard.

Oosthuizen is one-under after three rounds, with Schwartzel a further shot back. Both are safe in terms of progressing to the penultimate playoff event, with Oosthuizen now 24th and Schwarzel 49th.

Grace starts Monday in a share of 14th place as he looks to find some late-season momentum before the Presidents Cup at Liberty National at the end of the month. A good final round will see him peg it up at Conway Farms near Chicago next Thursday, with an outside chance of making it into the top 30 for the season finale at Eastlake.
