Fisher Jnr streaks clear in Zim

Trevor Fisher Jnr hung on in trying conditions during the second round of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and shot 70 to share eighth place after the morning field completed their rounds.

The 2015 Africa Open winner kept a tidy card and was rewarded with a five-under-par total at the halfway mark of the $2.7-million tournament.

He started on the back nine and quickly moved up the leaderboard withbirdies at the 12th and 13th and then made a run of five pars to reach the turn on five under for the tournament.

He went a further shot deep with a gain at the first hole, but his scoring was put on hold after he bogeyed the third. That slip put an end to his march, yet he managed to salvage six pars on his way into the clubhouse.

Fisher was enjoying his time on and off the course, and tweeted this pic of himself and Branden Grace going for a helicopter trip.
