Callaway chief executive Chip Brewer announced that he will join the leadership trend to forgo his base salary of $900,000 in order to create a better economic environment for the sports goods manufacturer during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Brewer will join Jay Monahan, the PGA Tour commissioner, in this act as corporate bosses across the sporting world continue to fight to cut costs in these unprecedented times.
Other members of the Callaway executive, such as vice-president and chief financial officer Brian Lynch, have also volunteered for a reduction in his base salary.
The PGA Tour, earlier this week, announced a new golf schedule for the remainder of the year, which grants the PGA Championship, US Open and the Masters new dates for completion.
The Green Jacket should’ve been contested at Augusta National this week but has been postponed until November.
