Tiger Woods’ time at the top of the longest average driving distance in a winning performance has been ended by Bryson DeChambeau after 15 years.

    Winner’s bag: Bryson DeChambeau

DeChambeau, who banked three consecutive top-5 finishes to move from from 18th to 13th in the Official World Golf Ranking before the lockdown, has seen his protein shake diet pay off with a win and a place in the history books.

On Sunday, he overturned a 3-shot deficit to defeat Matthew Wolff and although he gained eight shots on the field with the putter it is his long game that continues to attract attention.

Since the return to play, DeChambeau has banked a T3, a T8, a T6 and now a win. His next goal is to chase down Justin Thomas, who has the most wins in the last four seasons.

Longest average measured driving distance in a win, recorded PGA Tour history:

    2020 @b_dechambeau, Rocket Mortgage, 350.6 yards

2005 Tiger Woods, The Open, 341.5

2016 Dustin Johnson, WGC Invitational, 341.3

Most PGA Tour wins last four seasons:

    Justin Thomas – 11

    Dustin Johnson – 9

    Bryson DeChambeau – 6

    Brooks Koepka – 6
