• Thomas won’t be needling Spieth on 12

Spieth knows more than most the ups and downs of the game

Justin Thomas won’t be chirping Jordan Spieth if they play the 12th hole this week after Spieth’s Masters implosion last year.

Spieth, looking to defend his title, was five shots clear and looking good to claim his second Masters title at 22 in record-breaking style. That was until he arrived at the 12th hole, the infamous par 3 named ‘Golden Bell’.

The seemingly harmless 155-yard par 3 caught Spieth in its crosshairs as he made a quadruple bogey to drop four behind.

‘No, that’s not really cool. That’s all I have to say about that (laughter),’ Thomas said when asked if he would be throwing a barb at Spieth.
