A rested Tiger Woods will lead out his USA team as the Internationals attempt to win just their second Presidents Cup on Sunday at Royal Melbourne.

The US playing captain did not feature in either of Saturday’s fourballs or foursomes matches as he watched his side reduce the deficit in the afternoon session.

He faces impressive rookie Abraham Ancer, who alongside Marc Leishman clawed their way to a half point against Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler despite being 5 down through 7 holes.

Internationals captain Ernie Els bolstered his start by sending Hideki Matsuyama out second with Adam Scott, Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman out in the final the five games.

Oosthuizen lost his first match this week alongside Scott but will be fancied to edge Matt Kuchar on a course that has played into the Internationals hands.

The biggest mismatch sees former world number one Dustin Johnson face China’s Haotong Li, a player who has featured just once all week.

Fireworks can be expected in the clash that sees Patrick Cantlay take on Joaquin Niemann while home favourite Cameron Smith was given the unenviable task of trying to inflict defeat on Justin Thomas for the first time this week.
