Tiger Woods has been transferred to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for further orthopaedic treatment and to continue his recovery after Tuesday’s car accident.

Woods was immediately admitted to the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center after the crash, where he received emergency surgery on multiple leg injuries.

The centre released a statement on Friday morning stating, ‘it was an honour to provide orthopaedic care to one of our generation’s greatest athletes.’

Opinion: Tiger’s recovery should run its course

Woods was involved in a single-car collision at around 07:12am on Tuesday morning on one of Los Angeles’ highways.

The impact saw Woods’ car roll off the side of road and into a ditch where firefighters and paramedics used the ‘jaws of life’ method to evacuate him from the vehicle.

Woods was in California for a two-day shoot with GolfTV and Golf Digest and presented Max Homa with the winner’s trophy at last weekend’s Genesis Invitational at the Riviera.

No latest update has, however, been given on Woods’ well-being.
