• Reed gets the shovel out

Patrick Reed, a player never far from controversy, got out his shovel after being heckled on day two at the Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne.

The American, who has now lost two out of two matches this week, was assessed a two-shot penalty at the Hero World Challenge after TV replays showed the former Masters champ improving his lie by removing sand in his practise swing.

On day one, a spectator asked if Reed was going to play with 14 clubs and a shovel and on Friday, a home supporter shouted ‘miss’ as Reed’s putt tracked towards the hole. It dropped and then Reed followed it up with a new celebration move.

He has clearly moved on from the incident.
