Phil Mickelson continued where he left off at Ozark National after a second-round 64 on Tuesday, giving him a four-shot lead.

The five-time Major champion started the week with a bang, opening his account with a spectacular 10-under-par 61 on Monday.

Mickelson, who failed to make the cut over this past weekend’s The Northern Trust, decided to make his debut appearance at the PGA Champions Tour this week.

But, the 50-year-old has proven why he is still regarded as one of the best competitors in the world and more than capable of still pulling his weight on the PGA Tour.

Eight birdies and one bogey on Tuesday meant Mickelson finished on 17 under par after 36 holes, with Australia’s Rob Pampling and fellow American Tim Petrovic in T2 on 13 under par for the event.

South Africa’s Retief Goosen made a solid charge in his second round with a six-under-par 65 on Tuesday, which has left him on nine under and in T8 heading into the third round.
