Much to fans’ bemusement the PGA Tour’s featured groups for the Memorial Tournament do not include Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka together.

The pair, set to be Ryder Cup teammates, have reengaged their off-course skirmishes with Koepka’s latest tweet [Ed’s note: Yes, this how they ‘engage’ now] seemingly taking aim at DeChambeau’s bulking-up programme that has resulted in tremendous ball speed.

Fans were eagerly awaiting a grouping containing DeChambeau, the hottest player in the world right now, and former world No 1 Koepka.

Instead, Koepka will join the returning Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, himself playing for the first time in a couple of weeks.

DeChambeau, who won the Rocket Mortgage Classic, will join last week’s impressive Workday Charity Open winner Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay for rounds one and two. Cantlay is the defending champion.

Runner-up last week, Justin Thomas joins former PGA Tour Rookie of the Year Xander Schauffele and Dustin Johnson in the last of the marquee groups.

The Memorial is the sixth event on the PGA Tour’s restart and marks the first time since 1957 that back-to-back Tour events will be held at the same course.
