• Golf is depending on you

GolfRSA CEO Grant Hepburn has issued a plea to all golfers who can to kindly pay their annual membership fees as the industry faces bleak times amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hepburn’s letter to South African golfers read:

    ‘Dear Golfer,

‘I trust you are staying safe and healthy during these challenging times. It is certainly a difficult period for all South Africans and my heart goes out to all those vulnerable citizens who have been severly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

‘The outbreak has resulted in the shutdown of all South African sports and we are hopeful that golf facilties will be reopened in the near future. Once we can get our golfers back out into the healthy environment that golf courses provide, we can also support the over 40,000 individuals who are employed in the golf industry.

‘After nearly two months of closure, many golf clubs are suffering financially and the sad reality is that some are even at risk of closure. Right now, golf clubs are dependent on the loyalty of their members to help carry them through this challenging period, and I urge all golfers who can to please pay their annual membership fees.

‘Golf may be a little different when we return to the fairways, but it will be wonderful to get back to playing the game that we all love so much.

‘Please watch the video below and remember to renew your annual golf subs if you are able to. Your golf club needs you now more than ever.

‘Stay safe and see you on the fairways soon.’
