Dylan Frittelli has been paired with two bright young talents, Wilco Nienaber and Jayden Schaper, for the opening two rounds of the SA Open.

The European Tour heads to Sun City for the start of the 110th edition of South Africa’s flagship golf competition at the famous Gary Player Country Club on Thursday.

Fresh off his excellent performance at Augusta National, Frittelli will make his first appearance on home soil in quite some time and highlight the exciting group with Nienaber and Schaper, who have both been in spectacular nick recently.

The 20-year-old Nienaber claimed second place at the Joburg Open two weeks ago after a tight battle with Joachim B Hansen, while the 19-year-old Schaper battled bravely for a T2 finish at last week’s Alfred Dunhill Championship, ultimately won by countryman Christiaan Bezuidenhout.

The trio of Frittelli, Nienaber and Schaper will tee off on the 10th hole on Thursday at 7:50am in what should make for some pretty decent viewing from a South African perspective.

Bezuidenhout will be out on the course ten minutes earlier when he tees off next to Matthias Schwab and Casey Jarvis.

Compleat Golfer playing editor Brandon Stone will tee off alongside Dean Burmester and England’s Richard Bland, while young Garrick Higgo will share a group with Shaun Norris and Pablo Larrazabal on Thursday and Friday.

All the action will be live on SuperSport Golf (213) from 11am on Thursday.
