    Don’t let the box office numbers tell you otherwise … this golf flick has the best cast (Matt Damon, Will Smith and Charlize Theron all added their weight to its hype) and a storyline worth sitting through. It’s Bobby Jones vs Walter Hagen vs local hero Rannulph Junuh (Damon).

    The Greatest Game Ever Played (2005)

    The most modern film by release date, this one takes us back to 1913 and centres on a working-class American amateur named Francis Ouimet (Shia LaBeouf) playing in the US Open at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, located across the street from his home. A playoff for the ages …
