American John Catlin claimed his second European Tour victory of the month when he won the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open at Galgorm Castle on Sunday.

Catlin, who won his maiden Tour title at the Andalucia Masters a few weeks ago, delivered a final-round masterclass to come out on top with a two-shot victory.

A 6-under-par 64 by the 29-year-old saw him finish the week with a winning score of 10 under as he edged overnight leader Aaron Rai, who had to settle for 2nd spot on 8 under par.

Catlin rolled in seven birdies throughout his Sunday showing, while dropping a single stroke with a bogey on the 13th hole as he secured a second win in only three starts.

Jazz Janewattananond and Maverick Antcliff had to settle for a share of 3rd spot, despite starting the final round firmly in contention to fight for the win.

Unfortunately, South Africa’s Dean Burmester, who was also in the mix after moving day and only two strokes behind ahead of play on Sunday, experienced a horror show to end his week with.

Burmester struggled to get any sort of momentum going throughout his day and in the end shot a 5-0ver-par 75 to finish on 1 under and in 22nd spot.

Countryman Justin Harding also failed to get going on Sunday as he concluded his week with a 1-over 71 to settle in T11.

Wilco Nienaber and George Coetzee both finished the final round on 6 over par for the event and in T48.
