    Who could forget Jean van de Velde’s infamous collapse on the 18th hole at The Open Championship in 1999?

    The Frenchman, needing only a double-bogey 6 to win, was far too aggressive off the tee with driver.

    In the end, his lapse in concentration resulted in a triple-bogey 7, forcing him into a playoff that he ultimately lost and Paul Lawrie claimed the Claret Jug.
