MJ Daffue started his Open adventure with a solid 67 on Thursday but must wait until 4:10pm to tee off in round two.
Daffue qualified via the regional sections to take his place in the field and now leads the South African charge. Behind him are Shaun Norris and Aldreich Potgieter at -1.

At level for the opening round are Jayden Schaper and Hennie du Plessis, who has an afternoon tee time and will be anxiously looking at the weather reports to see if the wind is going to arrive at Royal Birkdale.
