The rough was brutal on the par-70 layout and finding fairways was a must. 2014 US Open champion Martin Kaymer (pictured) battled the long grass on his way to a share of 37th.
Rain. And then some more rain. The first two rounds were hampered by heavy thundershowers and play was suspended several times. Oakmont Country Club held up despite the extra waterings.
