• Oosthuizen steady before late stumble

    Louis Oosthuizen
    Counting the cost

A bogey on the 18th left Louis Oosthuizen with probably too much to do with low scoring on offer at The Open on Saturday.

The 2010 champion birdied two of the first four holes but failed to kick on his best day in terms of approaching the green.

A bogey at the 8th, the second time he’s dropped a shot there this week, saw him turn in -1 with Justin Rose and Tiger Woods showing what was on offer at Carnoustie. Rose fired the lowest ever Open round on Saturday with a 64 as Woods flexed his muscles and gained a share of the lead on a congested leaderboard.

Oosthuizen birdied the 14th and 15th but once again failed to add to that tally before a bogey on the 18th cost him any real chance of a second Claret Jug.
